  • Newton White Bays's spouse is listed as Amanda Helen Perry, but I have no marriage information yet.
  • Rufus Garland Bays married Sarah Salyer around 1846 in Floyd county, Kentucky
That's all the marriages I've found information for now.

Census Information
  • In the 1940 census, John Riley Bays (29) was listed living on Upper Hunter Trace, Jefferson county, Kentucky. Also at the same residence are his wife Bertha (28), son John Riley, Jr. (less than a month old), and daughters Helen (7), Jane (4), and "Cyaleen" (2), who I'm pretty sure was my mother, Charlene.
  • In the 1930 census, John Riley Bays (19) was living at his father's home in Pine Grove, Rowan county, Kentucky. At the same location were his father, Joseph Walter Bays (50), his mother (Anna D. Bays (43), sisters Myrtle S. (25) and Rosa M. (10), and brothers Charles A (17), Elbert L. (15), Andy J. (13), Hiram W. (8), Dennie L. (6), and James W. (1).
  • Joseph Walter Bays (40) is listed in the 1920 census as living in Brushy precinct of Rowan county, Kentucky. Also listed in the household are his wife, Anna D. Bays (33); sons Edward (13), John (9), Charlie (7), Elbert (5), and Andy (2 years, 8 months); daughters Martha (15), and Lillie (11).
  • Joseph Walter Bays (30) is listed in the 1910 census as living in Brushy precinct of Rowan county, Kentucky. Also listed in the household are his wife, Anna (22), his son Edward (3) and his daughters Myrtle (5) and Lily (10 months?).
  • Joseph Walter Bays (20) is listed in the 1900 census, living at his father's household in Carter county, Kentucky. See the 1900 entry for Newton White Bays below.
  • Newton White Bays (47) shows up in the 1900 census in Carter county. Also living in the household are his wife Amanda (43); sons Luther (22), Joseph (20), Alford (18), Dennie (16) and Robert (11); daughters Eva (13), Sena (9), Maggie (7) and Lona (3).
  • There is a Newton Bays (16) living at the Robert Perry residence in the 1870 census. Robert Perry is the grandfather of Amanda Helen Perry, Newton's future wife. I believe this is Newton White Bays. At the same residence are Robert Perry (60), Sarah Perry (48?), David Perry (15), and Rebecca Bays (19). The post office is listed as Grayson, Carter county, Kentucky.
So far, that's all I've found in the Federal censuses. Not nearly as much as I would like, but I guess that's how it goes. If anyone has more information, I'd love to hear it.
